Discipleship | Lesson 9 | Devotion 1

Hebrews 4:15-16 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Have you ever gone somewhere and felt completely out of place? Maybe you were over-dressed or under-dressed for an event. Maybe you didn’t know anyone or you didn’t have anything in common with those surrounding you. Our minds are quick to recognize an uncomfortable situation. It would be safe to say that we would all feel out of place in the presence of royalty or approaching the throne room of someone of great power.

Did you know that you have been invited to a throne room. You are welcome to approach the King of the Universe with any problem you may have. Let that sink in for just a moment. Something that would intimidate and make us feel out of place on this earth is actually encouraged by our Heavenly King. There is not a leader on this earth who would listen to and deal with the situations that God handles. Why is that? Because earthly kings have no control over sickness, marriages, or even parenting. Many of life’s trials are outside of man’s control. Even those with power and authority cannot control much of what we deal with on a daily basis.

As we enter into the throne room of God, we are coming before a King who has the power to heal, to help, and to even remove. How often are you taking God up on this invitation? How often are you entering the throne room of God? Some of life’s greatest needs cannot be dealt with by man’s power; they must go to a higher power. As a Christian, you have been granted access to that Higher Power. There’s no need to feel out of place; take full advantage of the access to the King that you have been given.
